(Banish procrastination monkey)
“I’m at a crossroads. My partner says one thing, but I’m not so sure. Which way?”
“I feel stuck. I’m bored and I’m looking for a change, but I just can’t get going.”
“I’ve grafted for years and now I want to do something more for me.”
“My confidence isn’t where I want it to be. Not for climbing the ladder.”
“There are so many paths and I can’t see which one’s right for me.”
“I’m not passionate about things any more. I don’t know how to find passion again.”
“I like my work, but can’t shake off imposter syndrome.”
“I’ve got an urge to tackle a challenge, but I’m worried I won’t make it.”
“Making money for someone doesn’t cut it anymore. I want to feel I’m making a difference.”
– Help you understand what really matters to you, in the middle of all that’s going on.
– Clarify what opportunities exist, and identify the best approach to take.
– Work through negative thinking and limiting beliefs, so you can crack on and make progress.
– Pick up new skills to manage your time and do more meaningful work.
– Set and maintain healthy boundaries with friends, colleagues and loved ones.
– Look at your life to see what gets you going, what you find meaningful and keeps the fires lit.
– Move you from dreaming, to planning, to action, and building momentum.
It’s not me telling you what to do.
I’ve a lot of experience, but I’ve not been living your life, so I listen and reflect, drawing on my experience, to help you find answers and build greater awareness.
It’s not looking into the past to heal you.
If you’re living with trauma or struggling with serious mental health issues, then a health care professional is more appropriate. We’ll touch on the past together, to examine beliefs and highlight lessons or turning points for you, but coaching is future focused.
It’s not affirmation chanting, vibration tapping, or crystal hugging. I don’t believe in mere manifestation. Nope.
I’m a compassionate person, grounded in science and allergic to marketing trends.
Think of Adam Grant and Carol Dweck – not Jen Sincero. Heck, I’m sorry to even write Jen Sincero’s name here.
I’ve overcome a lot of obstacles and setbacks, leaving me well placed to help you overcome them, too. I’m an ultra-runner that’s raised thousands of pounds for charities, so I like a challenge.
Along my journey I’ve seen the power of positive thinking, though not in the modern spiritual, manifesting abundance sense. I’ve been in war zones and helped loved ones battle suicidal thinking, as well as building myself up after a difficult marriage breakdown. So I’ve seen it can be a tough world, one that needs pragmatic optimism. Oh, and the odd treat – you can’t beat a good almond croissant in a crisis.
That doesn’t mean relentless pushing forward and constant activity. Empathy, kindness, and curiosity are all key ingredients. And, yes, rest and looking after yourself. I help you unpack what’s going on, develop a revitalising vision, and galvanise your energy.
We build clarity together, without any judgement. Friends and family can struggle with this as they’re “looking out for what’s best for you”. Together, we nurture your hopes so that you can really reach for those big goals.
I calmly explore the things you might not say to others. Any thoughts that seem unpalatable, I give you room to talk about.
I’m that caring, persistent nudge towards hopes and dreams that seem unclear or out of touch.
You’re the star and put the work in. I’m the coach that sees you right.
“Mark is calm and constructive, making him a trusted partner to share difficulties with.
I was overwhelmed with work and home both causing me grief. He walked me through uncomfortable thoughts, using insightful questions to move me away from paralysis and on to tackling today’s issues.
I’ve taken action, got momentum again and I’m moving forward. Mark’s a canny lad.”
